Peter and Margaret Carlone started Carlone's Florist in the cellar of their Portsmouth, Rhode Island home in November 1954. In 1957 they remodeled the garage and built a new store. For 43 years Peter and Margaret ran a successful and award winning business. They retired in 1998. Pete passed away in October 2000 and Peg still helps out during the holidays. Their daughter Carol, continues to operate the business in the same location.
Opened in Autumn of 2004, Carlone's Green End Florist is more of a 21st Century contemporary design shop. Roadside service is available in the warmer months for a quick and convenient way to receive Carlone's quality and service. Carlone's Green End Florist is dedicated to continuing the same level of excellence that has made our Portsmouth store so renowned for over 52 years. Carlone's Green End Florist is operated by "The Third Generation" of the Carlone family and we are the only florist on Aquidneck Island with 2 locations.
